AR-15 Stuff ( Info, Catalogs, Links )
I have done a little work on the trigger ( Polishing surfaces ONLY ) and the bolt carrier ( Smoothing/Polishing wear surfaces ONLY ), this rifle/X-mas present has turned into a real pleasure to shoot. I recomend the AR-15 to anyone that would like to shoot a rifle that:
You can get a scope mount from ~$15 to ~$100 for the fancy ones. I have a B-SQUARE AR-15 Scope Mount that comes with 1 inch rings and is removable without loss of ZERO. I went down to Woodbrook Sports ( Free Advertisement! ) and bought a TASCO World Class Plus scope, went to the range & had a blast. Yeah, I know, I shoulda bought a BURRIS or a LEUPOLD, but I wanted a scope NOW & I only had $190.00 & wanted a 3x-9x scope.
It was a couple of days after X-MAS and the only thing Kenny had that fit my money/needs was the World Class Plus, if I hadn't been so impatient He could have gotten me whatever I wanted. What I really want is an Trijicon ACOG sight, but I don't have ~$695.00. Most Importantly I only shoot at my paper Targets from 100 yds away (We only have a 100 yd range).
If you are interested in getting an AR-15 I recomend:
This is a newer version of my Savage Model 99c.
The stock resembles the Ruger above more that this modern version.
It is stained a Dark walnut color. It is an excelent Deer hunting rifle
with a Weaver 3x20 scope onboard. It was built around 1925 ( Whoa Grandpa! ).
It is a fine, accurate rifle that recoils like a .30-06. Since I am not a big
fan of HIGH recoil weapons This rifle doesn't get used often. It has probably only
had about 150 to 200 rounds fired through it.
